  • I CAN NO LONGER PRESCRIBE

Message from Dr. Stradtman

It is with regret that I can no longer remain in solo private practice.  Several reasons have brought about our closing and we have tried to make adjustments in recent years to stay afloat.  Financially it has become impossible to cover the costs of running our practice.  Our last day to see patients is planned to be Tuesday, September 30, 2014.  After that time I will be unable to write prescriptions, so for patients who need them, please let us know so we can accommodate you.  Depending on the most recent visit, a return visit may be needed before a prescription can be written.  Records have to be maintained for 7 years and options for obtaining copies are listed above.  We want to make your transition as easy as possible to another physician but with the advent of electronic health records (EHR), some charts are in transition from the standard “paper chart” to and will take time to be completed.  If your last visit was more than 10 years ago (excluding sexual abuse matters), your record will likely have been destroyed.

To our healthcare colleagues: Thank you for entrusting your patients to us these 20 years.  You have been our lifeline and a pleasure to work with toward our patients’ well being.  We sincerely value your kindness and friendship.

To our patients and their families:
Whether we have had a single visit or years together, you are the reason we exist.  You have been an unspeakable blessing to my staff and me.  When I say that we have learned much from you, I do not just mean medical knowledge but some insight into what it means to be human and made in God's image.  Many of you have shown great courage and endurance in the face of hardship, not the least of which is coming to a male physician!  I know wait times have sometimes been long and inconvenient and I apologize.  I can only hope that you know we care about you and you are worth the time we have spent together.  Most important, I have grown to know and love many of you.  That makes it all worthwhile!  Thank you.

Parting Thoughts
The practice of medicine is an imperfect science and art.  We can be thankful for understanding and various means to help patients and if you have been so helped, I believe it is by the love, mercy, and grace of God.  However, it is clear that He does not always give us what we want in our timing.  That does not diminish His lovingkindness toward us.  If you find yourself suffering in some way - feeling sorrowful, alone, in pain, or marginalized - please know that Jesus has suffered such things and is not deaf to the cry of your heart and soul.  He is not just the Great Physician but our Savior and perfect Bridegroom.  Consider the apostle Paul’s words: “We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.  God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

We have long prayed that God would bring to our office the people He would have us know and we thank Him for you.
